Picture from the past ' I know the whole deal with the internet is to have the latest and greatest up to the last second. I have been working a a project to convert my old slides to jpg files and so I have been reminded of the Shelties we have loved over the years.
Here's our first Sheltie, BJ. He was an anniversary present from my parents and shared five different houses.
Our three kids have never known a day without a Sheltie. When BJ was ten years old, we got a female, Meryl, shown here with BJ and our daughter.
Autumn Photo ' Just wanted to post a picture of our three Shelties. Elli on the left and Jake in the center have mated three times and produced thirteen puppies. Jorj, on the right, is one of the pups that belongs to our son. I'll keep the details short, but I'm happy to answer any questions
Because I know you guys understand. Our family pup, Nyssa, was just taken way too soon. She was only 6 - an autoimmune system disorder took one of the sweetest and most friendly shelties I've ever known. She loved apples and carrots, chewing them carefully. She'd herd you with a solid nudge of her nose, and did a dance when it was supper time. I had not loved another sheltie since my Robin passed in 2003 - but Nyssa had to be loved. She was beautiful and will be so missed. She's been here before, and I hope more pups who are alive and playing will be featured here.
Here's my 6-year-old male on the upper slopes of Mount Elbert, Colorado's highest. I posed him by a patch of Sky Pilots, my favorite alpine flower. We didn't make it to the top that day in August because I was going too slow and the storms were coming in. But the day was extremely beautiful and the flowers were gorgeous. Five hundred feet from the top is better than never having left the valley.
Grandpups ' A male named Chance, from our last litter in 2008, went to some friends who already had an older female, Cuddles. Hoping to have puppies, Cuddles was not in season at convenient times, so our friends decided that a litter wouldn't work out. Their pair of Shelties didn't get the memo and Cuddles delivered five on October 2. Anybody near Colorado want an early Christmas present?
I'd been wanting a sheltie for years and I finally got him back in November 2008. Will (short for Willpower) just turned 1 a couple weeks ago. His uncle, BISS CH Jesstar Affirmation, won best of breed at Westminster this past year. His favorite things include barking at everything that moves or makes noise, running super fast, jumping, and popcorn, among many others.
